Our Region
Southeastern Ontario covers a large geographic area of approximately 20,000 square kilometers. It has a resident population of 487,984 (2001 Census Data). Health Planning for the Southeast Region is the responsibility of the newly formed Southeast Local Health Integration Network. The LHIN boundaries correspond with those of the Southeastern Ontario Stroke Network and include four geographic planning areas comprised of (i) Hastings and Prince Edward Counties, (ii) Kingston Frontenac Lennox and Addington Counties, (iii) Lanark County, and (iv) Leeds and Grenville Counties. Each of these areas is served by a health unit, one or more hospital corporations, including inpatient rehabilitation services and a Community Care Access Centre.
